The Changeover dinner occurred on Monday, July 3, where Mr Kennett's new board was also installed.
Ms Febey gave her last presidential speech where she thanked the members for their support, participation and contribution, especially the board members while welcoming Mr Kennett to the presidential role.
“This is my second time as President, and I would like to thank the members for your confidence in me to do this again. But I could not take on the role as president without the ongoing support of the Board members, members of this Rotary club and my family, especially my husband lan,” Ms Febey began.
“I would like to thank the members of Yarrawonga/Mulwala Rotary Club, and other volunteers who assisted and continue to contribute their time and generosity. We have worked hard to continue to raise funds even though it has been difficult with the decline overall in attracting new and old stall holders to the market, as well as the consumers.
“Rotary is committed to serve our community and where possible to assist in either donation or time. This will always be a work in progress.
“This year we have continued with school funding either in scholarships, annual awards or support of students with needs to continue their schooling.
“Other donations have been to Days for Girls, the completion of Art wall and sign in Rotary Park, (which was a gift to Yarrawonga in commemoration of our 75 years being Charted) and also through the Portfolios of Service.

“This year our clubs main focus was to commence "Lift the Lid walk". What an outstanding success. Thanks to Ron and his team for all the hard work and you should be proud of the outcome. I am sure it can be a bigger success next year.
“To all our members take a bow for all your hard work, team leaders' thanks for your part in the organisation as this makes the boss Ron's job so much easier to ensure all goes well. We must also extend thanks to family and friends of Rotary who assisted in this event.
“We welcomed new members to our club Barry Johnson, Carolyn Walker, Jan Gill and John Hutchinson, but sadly due to other commitments some members have left our Rotary club.
“To all the members, thank you for your support and giving me the opportunity to continue my journey in learning about the world of Rotary, I know I have more to give to this club and to the Rotary community so I am looking forward to the future in Rotary.”
Mr Kennett then gave his first speech as President and thanked Ms Febey for her work as well as introducing his new board.
“On behalf of the members, I would like to congratulate and thank Cate for her leadership of the club over the past 12 months. You endeavoured to make the meetings relaxed and enjoyable and I would also like to personally thank you for making my transition a much easier one through your advice and the passing of the paperwork,” Mr Kennett said.
“Rotary International president Gordon McNally developed this years theme - "Create Hope in the World" with a particular focus on both promoting peace in the world and addressing the challenges of mental health in our communities.
“This year our Rotary club will again support our local community through various projects. We will again contribute to our School Support Program, the Kokoda Trek program at the P-12 College, the Rotary Youth Exchange Program, Portsea camp, Australia Day Awards Breakfast and our second Lift the Lid Walk.
“I am confident that with our dedicated group of Rotarians we will make a difference.
“I would also like to introduce our New Board for 2023 – 2024.
