By rescuing produce that would otherwise go to waste, Funky Food aims to help families stretch their dollars, support local farmers and make environmentally conscious choices.

While the company’s ‘exotic fruit box’ features in-season mangoes, pineapples and dragon fruit, summer is also the season where storms hit hard, the increasingly unpredictable weather at times leaving growers with excess or “imperfect” fruit that supermarkets reject.
