Adams achieved 1 buoy on the 10.25 line, just a couple of buoys short of his Australian record.
The Lake Moodemere Invitational Water Ski Slalom Classic saw some amazing skiing by not only the local but the interstate skiers.
The event held over the weekend of February 16 and 17 featured skiers from all states across Australia, seven of them being current Australian record holders.
The crowd was not let down nor disappointed with two new Australian records being set and one equalled, but many more skiers achieving personal best scores.
The standout performances were from former World Champion Emma Sheers from the Sunshine Coast (making a return to competitive skiing after raising a family) who equalled her over 35 women’s slalom record of 2 buoys on the 10.75 metre line and from Pete Cornale from Brisbane, who set a new Australian record of 1 buoy on the 10.25 metre line.
Sue Crisp from Geelong also set a new Australian Record for the Over 55 Women’s event with a score of 3.5 buoys on the 13.0 metre line.
Local Bundalong skier and Mulwala Water Ski Club member, Tom Ryan twice established personal best scores of 4.5 buoys on the 10.75 metre line.
Tom’s consistency over the four rounds will hold him in good stead for the State Championships next weekend in the La Trobe Valley and also for the Moomba Masters which is only a few weeks away.
