‘Addictogenic landscapes’ opens at the Foundry

The Foundry Art Space was filled with guests on Friday afternoon as the ‘Addictogenic Landscapes’ exhibition by local artist Kristen Dyer was officially opened.

The exhibition features 30 new paintings created over the span of one year which explores the relationship between environments, trauma and addiction.

The night was officially opened by Echuca life coach and counsellor Shaylee Anderson.

Artist Kristen Dyer said she was happy with the response the works received during opening night.

“I am feeling elated, it’s great to see the paintings in a gallery and the Foundry Arts Space is a wonderful space to exhibit,” she said.

“I am happy with the positive comments from my family and friends and people loved the artworks.”

Ms Dyer said she wants people to think about the intersection of addiction and the environment and how they impact one another when they see her work.

Through her work, she comments on the existence of ‘socio-spatial’ dynamics and the resilience of people navigating these tough surroundings.
