The visit was part of the library's school holiday program and proved a hit with families looking for some holiday fun.
Muster photo exhibition
You don't have to be attending the Deni Ute Muster to experience the atmosphere of Australia's iconic ute festival this weekend.
A special photographic exhibition at the Peppin Gallery celebrates 27 years of the Deni Ute Muster, featuring archival images of custom rigs, dusty paddocks, colourful characters and the unique spirit that has made the event famous.
The exhibition is showing at the Peppin Gallery, 295 George St, Deniliquin, until November 18.
School holiday fun continues
The excitement of the Deni Ute Muster will soon leave, but there's still plenty to see and do during the final week of the school holidays.
Families can take advantage of the Deni RSL's Kids Eat Free Sundays promotion on October 4 and 11, with free meals available from the kids menu, while the venue's Little Diggers play area offers youngsters a chance to burn off some energy after lunch.
The Edward River Library is also hosting a range of school holiday activities, including virtual reality sessions and craft workshops.
Older children and teenagers can enjoy a movie night with the Edward River Film Society on October 9, featuring the science fiction film District 9 (MA15+).
There may also still be places available in the Deniliquin Stadium's school holiday program, with details available via its Facebook page.
Meanwhile, The Coach House is offering $20 kids meals (lunch and dinner) that include a drink and ice cream, while adults can enjoy a $20 lunch special that comes with a coffee or soft drink.
Daylight saving reminder
Daylight saving time begins this weekend, with clocks moving forward one hour at 2am on Sunday.
Residents are reminded to set their clocks ahead by one hour before going to bed on Saturday night.
The time change is also a timely reminder to check smoke alarms throughout the home.
Test each alarm to ensure it is working correctly and, where applicable, replace the batteries.
Taking a few minutes now can help keep your household safe throughout the year.
Bush fire danger period reminder
The bush fire danger period began yesterday, with local Rural Fire Service crews urging residents to prepare now as fire risks increase across the region.
Recent rainfall has created higher fuel loads, making it important for people to review their bush fire survival plans, clear gutters and remove flammable material from around their homes.
Residents are also reminded that fire permits are now required before lighting fires and that neighbours and local fire authorities must be notified at least 24 hours before any burn-off.
Double demerits in force for long weekend
Motorists travelling to and from the Deni Ute Muster are reminded that double demerit penalties are now in force across NSW for the Labour Day long weekend.
The operation targets all offences, but with a particular focus on speeding, illegal mobile phone use, seatbelt offences and motorcycle helmet offences.
Drivers are urged to slow down, stay focused and ensure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained before heading onto the road for the busy weekend.
