Ky Lotto and Toys boss Miles Gould reports he sold a second division-winning ticket with the purchaser picking up a handy $9800-plus for his/her troubles.
Kyabram received rain on five successive days last week but there was no threat of floods.
It all added up to a handy 14.4mm of rain to Saturday and is the only rain received so far for April.
But croppers welcomed the rain and responded by starting to sow winter crops.
There was also a plunge in maximum temperatures at the weekend with Friday’s maximum reaching only 19.9°C, Saturday 17.7°C and Sunday 16.8°C.
Minimums have also plummeted, dipping to 6.9°C on both Saturday and Sunday before a slightly warmer low on Monday of 8.1°C.

The park has been situated on Crown land with leasing arrangements limited to 21 years in the past.

Ditty for Diva
One of the greatest gallopers in Australian turf history has been honoured by Cobram-raised singer-songwriter Roger King.
King has released a new song dedicated to the champion racehorse Makybe Diva, the only thoroughbred to have won three Melbourne Cups — in 2003, 2004 and 2005.
Makybe Diva died on February 28 at the age of 27 after a colic attack.
King had to get permission from the great mare’s owner Tony Santic to write the song. Santic deemed it an honour to have a song named after his great mare.
The song is available to stream on all streaming services including Spotify.
Buried in time
A time capsule and plaque has been erected to honour the late Ada Rudd, author of Katamatite’s renowned history book Katamatite: The First 100 Years, 1876-1976.
The capsule is a memorial to Rudd for her dedication to the Katamatite community and her publications were placed in the capsule, donated by Furphy & Sons.
The capsule will be buried under Miss Rudd’s memorial outside the Katamatite Historical Society building and will be opened in 25 years.
Costly caper
The gremlins got into this one last week and it should have read:
With the price of fuel soaring past the cost of beer, some wit has suggested there needs to be a slogan change.
‘‘It used to be “drink, don’t drive’’, but they may have to change that to ”drive but can’t (afford to) drink!’’ was the suggestion.
