The club will release 15,000 Murray cod fingerlings, in an effort to boost the local ecology.
Treasurer Chiqueta McNicol said this release has been made possible due to joint funding arrangements.
“This restocking project has been made possible with assistance from NSW Fisheries through a grant they kindly provided,” she said.
“As a club, we have contributed $5,000 to purchase 5,000 fish, and NSW Fisheries has generously supported us with an additional 10,000 fish.
“This initiative aims to increase recreational fishing opportunities within our local community and to help boost tourism in the region.”
Tocumwal Angling Club will also make a donation to an important local group on the morning of the release.
Community members and visitors are encouraged to come along from 8.30am to witness the release and learn more about the Tocumwal Angling Club.
A food van will be available, serving bacon and egg roles, sausages and onion in bread and veggie burgers.
