The theme was Pearls, Bubbles and Beer and the room was a sea of pink, black, and enough bling to rival a jewellery shop.
More than 100 tickets were sold, and the night was filled with delicious finger food by Blue Gum Catering, raffles and prizes generously donated by local businesses, and a highly entertaining round of music trivia hosted by Steve Kent.
With some truly tricky questions, there were plenty of laughs and a few head-scratchers as teams battled it out for bragging rights.
Inner Wheel member Christine Kent kept the evening moving with style and good humour as emcee, and club president Brenda Tuddenham said she was thrilled with the turnout and the community spirit, with a special mention to Kay Blakeley for an outstanding effort behind the scenes.
The fundraiser supported Inner Wheel Australia’s national project, cord blood research, which funds critical medical research into stem cells from umbilical cord blood to treat leukaemia, cerebral palsy, heart disease, diabetes and autoimmune disorders.
Since 2001, the project has raised more than $3 million and funded more than 55 research grants, without taking a single dollar for admin fees.
Inner Wheel is one of the largest women’s service organisations in the world, with clubs in more than 100 countries.
