Excitement is in the air as Echuca Regional Health and Kagome prepare to hold their Celebrating Culinary Careers fundraiser later this month.

The proceeds of the night will help ERH provide mental health and wellbeing programs and services, working towards a brighter, healthier, happier, more accepting and inclusive future for the region.
“We all have a part to play in promoting and creating positive impacts in our daily lives and the lives of others, and ERH is very proud of the role that we play in providing wellbeing and primary mental health services to the community,” said ERH chief executive Robyn Lindsay.
The region’s need for more mental health support is important to Kagome’s chief executive Jason Fritsch.
“The last two to three years have been very difficult. At the moment, the country’s experiencing a cost-of-living issue, and a lot of people are finding it difficult to make ends meet,” he said.
“All the pressure from the last two or three years can culminate, especially just after COVID, so anything we can do to help to contribute or provide in (the mental health and wellbeing) area is great. It’s a good cause, and we’re very pleased to be involved in that.”

Next year, ERH looks forward to making a significant contribution to two new programs based in Echuca — a child and infant mental health and an adult and older person mental health hub.
“Whilst we are already making a difference, the resources available to us are limited, and this is why we have reached out for support,” Ms Lindsay said.
“The money we raise as a community will go directly to supporting us to see people who need us more quickly and also support us to renovate and build the facilities that we need to support people in a comfortable and safe environment.
“We would like to thank our fantastic and generous community who have responded already through our various fundraising initiatives.”
ERH and Mr Fritsch are thankful for all the people who are making this event possible.
“This wouldn’t happen without (chef) Glenn (Austin). He reached out to his contacts, his mates and people he’s worked with. We’re getting spectacular chefs come to this event, and that’s all because of Glenn,” Mr Fritsch said.
“We’re so thankful to all the chefs — Adriano, John, Glenn, and Adrian — for making time for this.”
ERH and Kagome wanted to extend their appreciation to Morrisons Winery, where the event is being held, as well as all the sponsors they said have made the event possible.
Celebrating Culinary Careers will take place on May 17 at Morrisons Winery in Moama from 6pm to 11pm. Tickets are $250, and the proceeds will go towards mental health and wellbeing programs at Echuca Regional Health.
