For residents who were having trouble accessing the online Census, completing their forms, or not receiving their Census information, help was close at hand.
Australian Bureau of Statistics representatives Danielle Roberts and Louise Burn were on site, providing friendly, face-to-face assistance and answering questions.
The Pop-Up Hub offered a simple solution for anyone who found navigating the Census process a little challenging; sit down, ask questions and get help.
But there was another reason to stop for a chat.
While Danielle and Louise helped residents with their Census forms, participants from the centre’s Youth Engagement Program were busy behind the counter at the Talking Café.
For those attending the Census Pop-Up Day, it was about getting the help they needed.
For the young people behind the café counter, it was about learning by doing.
And for everyone, there was a warm welcome, a helping hand and perhaps a freshly made coffee while they waited.
The morning captured what the Yarrawonga Mulwala Community & Learning Centre does so well – bringing people together, providing practical support and creating opportunities for young people.
