Spirits were high on Friday morning, April 21, as Coles Seymour reopened after a six-month closure due to flood damage.
Staff gathered for an opening ceremony inside the store, with speeches and a ribbon-cutting ceremony, before the doors officially opened at 9am.

The store, which underwent extensive renovations following the flood damage, has a new look, featuring self-serve checkouts, a bakery section and a larger fresh produce section.
A spokesperson for Coles said that while the store did have a deli option, it was designed in a grab-and-go format, in the refrigerated section of the supermarket.
“All new additions have been placed in store to best suit the local community’s shopping needs,” the spokesperson said.
Seymour store manager Caz Watson said it was incredibly exciting to be back at work.
“We’ve been 15 days all hands on deck to push to get the store open for today,” she said.
“The team are bursting at the seams with excitement and the customers are knocking at the door.
“It looks like half of the community is here already, we are looking forward to what the rest of the day brings.”
Ms Watson said the most exciting aspects of the new store were the new service area and the mochi frozen dessert bar.
Team members: Callum Leonard, Phys Beuthin, Michelle Spiteri, Mikaela Glennon, Ami Jay, Steven Mazzeo and Kate Foley are ready to get back to work.
