Hollie is very excited about becoming a part of the Corowa club and is looking forward to heading up the social media and promotion aspects of the Corowa Lions Club.
Hollie's parents were present at the meeting in June and indicated they would also become active members.
The club has had a very positive year under the leadership of Stuart Whisson and the very active board, accomplishing a number of large projects.
One being the complete rebuild of the South Corowa Gazebo and BBQ area in the River Street Park and the soon to be completed project involving the re-imagining of the Pioneer Cemetery next to the new childcare centre in Federation Ave.
Further to those is the Australian Billycart Championships bringing more than two and a half thousand people to town with a better year promised next year.
Many other community projects are still active.
The club has worked tirelessly over the past years with the Can's for Cancer project and this year committed $20,000 to the Lions Childhood Cancer Research Foundation and a further $11,000 to other Lions Medical and Cancer related programs, totalling $31,000.
The Lions Water project, supported by many local businesses and private individuals has also raised funds for local and community projects and this year the club will donate $17,000 to further many other projects.
This completes a grand total of $48,000 to fund local and Lions projects this year.
The Lions Club of Corowa wishes to thank all those who have supported the community projects it runs and looks forward to your support in the coming years.
If you want to be a part of the organisation and support your local community then email corowa.nsw@lions.org.au and the club will welcome you as a member of a club that strives to serve.
