Ms Collie is an experienced manager and registered nurse with a demonstrated history of working in the hospital and health care industry across both private and public sectors.
“Jocelyn brings with here a wealth of knowledge, both clinical and managerial skills and will be a great asset to lead our team here in Corowa,” Cluster Manager Mark Massey said.
Underpinning her years of experience are excellent qualifications including a Postgraduate Diploma focused in Health Services Management from La Trobe University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Clinical Nursing from the University of Melbourne.
Jocelyn has previously worked as a Nurse Unit Manager with the District and she has a strong focus on quality and safety.“We are very lucky to have Jocelyn on board here at Corowa,” Mr Massey said.
“She is a very approachable person and has exceptional skills and background in quality management. She will provide great focus on delivering quality services and providing good clinical leadership.”
Mr Massey thanked outgoing Corowa Facility Manager Ann Turnbull for her great work over the past few years and wished her well in her retirement.
Ms Collie said her arrival is the perfect time to reinvigorate the Local Health Advisory Committee following the recent retirement of Chair Peter Wortman.
His departure leaves a gap for newcomers to join the LHAC, and MLHD is calling for expression of interest from people interesting in joining the committee.
“The LHAC plays such an important role advocating for the community’s health needs,” Ms Collie said.
“This is a great opportunity for anyone interested to join – I welcome the opportunity to speak with members of the community about their areas of interest and what they might bring to the committee.”
Volunteers do not need a background in health, what’s important is their connection with and passion for their community.
“We are looking for people from all walks of life to be involved and encourage anyone with the time and passion to make a difference to express their interest.”
