School captains Zack Llewellyn-Jones and Ella Webb gave their final speech for the year, recognising how far they had all come and the people who had helped them get there.
“From our very first day of school, you’ve been the ones lighting the path ahead,” they told their teachers.
“You’ve challenged us, inspired us, and sometimes pushed us further than we thought we could go.
You’ve stayed late marking essays, rewritten lessons to make them work better, and patiently answered the same question, multiple times.
You’ve not only taught us equations, essays, and experiments, but also how to think critically, how to persevere, and how to believe in our own potential.
“To our year advisor, Mr Bobbin, you’ve been our mentor, our advocate, and at times, our therapist.
“Thank you for being there with advice, encouragement, and sometimes a much-needed sense of humour.”
Zack and Ella also thanked the school community, from the principals and counsellors to the office staff, cleaners, canteen staff, and everyone else who keeps the school running – the quiet heroes who made sure the classrooms were ready, events happened, and their wellbeing cared for.
“You’ve shown us what teamwork and dedication look like,” they said.
Then finally, to their parents and families, who were their first teachers, biggest cheerleaders and constant safety nets.
“You’ve woken up early to get us to school, waited up late while we finished assignments, and listened to countless stories about school life — the good, the bad, and the dramatic.
“You’ve believed in us even when we doubted ourselves, and your love and encouragement have been the foundation that made our success possible.
“We hope today makes you proud, because this achievement belongs to you as much as it does to us.
“On behalf of the graduating class of 2025 thank you, truly, for walking this journey with us.
“Congratulations, everyone, and here’s to the future that awaits us all.”
