At least three councillors will not seek re-election to Federation Council in September – Crs Gail Law, David Longley and Aaron Nicholls.
Long serving Corowa-based Cr Law will call it a day.
“After 16 years on council, both Corowa and Federation, and at the age of 74, I think that’s my time up,” she said.
After serving two terms, Cr David Longley from Howlong will also call it a day.
“I’ll be 77 by the time of elections and feel it is time to give someone else a go,” he reasoned.
Corowa-based Cr Nicholls, who has closed his business in Corowa and re-located interstate, to Queensland, will not contest the election.
He continues serving as a councillor, including on-line attendance at council meetings.
“I haven’t found it an encumbrance at all,” the one-term councillor said.
“I’m still taking a keen interest in council matters and will also be with the lead up to elections.”
