The group’s annual general meeting and information session has an open invitation for locals to meet with other like-minded people to network and be inspired on Thursday, April 18, from 7pm to 9pm.
The session will be at the Seymour Recovery Hub at 4 Guild St, Seymour.
As the name suggests, the group members are people committed to helping Seymour become the place they would like it to be.
The night will begin with a brief AGM, but all nominations have been received for executive positions.
However, attendees can still choose to be nominated for any position or be a general committee member.
It will be followed by a presentation by Cr Rhonda Sanderson from Mitchell Shire Council, who will give an update on the progress of the much-anticipated community hub proposal.
If council successfully obtains grant funding, it will seek input to help shape the physical buildings of the community hub to serve our community’s needs.
This is also an opportunity to be part of the process, knowing that the funding announcements are due by the end of April.
Council flood and community recovery manager Kellie Massouras will also share her unique insight into how the community is recovering after the floods in October 2022.
She will share what she learned from the Flood Recovery Hub, which can help shape the proposed ongoing community hub.
