In a world of endless information, it’s getting harder to separate fact from fiction, so how do we do that?
How do we respond when we encounter misleading content without damaging relationships?
Indigo Shire Council is inviting residents to join a practical, expert-led workshop that takes the guesswork out of countering misinformation.
The workshop is led by Lauren Martin, award-winning journalist and co-author of the UNSW Kaldor Centre's groundbreaking report on countering misinformation.
Lauren brings real-world expertise in identifying false narratives and communicating truth with clarity and respect.
This engaging presentation combines expert insights with facilitated Q&A and is tailored to a broad audience with time for meaningful dialogue about the issues that matter most to your community.
You'll learn how misinformation spreads, develop skills to critically evaluate sources, build your fact-checking toolkit, and practice respectful strategies for challenging false information while maintaining positive relationships.
The workshop is suitable for anyone aged 15 and over who wants to strengthen their media literacy and build community resilience against divisive false narratives.
