Deniliquin sheep sale report:

Prices were stronger than recent markets, noting the comparisons in this report go back to the last Deniliquin sale a fortnight ago.

Any plainer and light trade lambs, and mixed clean-up lots of a few head, continued to struggle and were often cheaper.

The best pens of heavy trade type lambs sold from $164 to $182 in a range of 600c to 660c/kg carcase weight, which was a stronger rate than many recent markets.

Lighter and mixed trade lambs were $106 to $130 and showed a wide carcase price spread between 400c to 570c/kg carcase weight, depending on quality and number in a pen.

Secondary Merino lambs sold down to $28.

The small line-up of sheep recorded cheaper rates than a fortnight ago, but results were in line with recent sales.

Heavy Merino ewes in a skin sold to $135, with the general run of trade and light types $60 to $110.
