And the event kicked off Friday night with the long-awaited names going onto the Deniliquin and District Wall of Fame. More than 200 packed the inductee dinner to honour the latest industry stars.
Guest speaker Chris Brooks, not unexpectedly, launched into a presentation about the transport industry, supported by other speakers and long-term supporters including Anthony Spence-Fletcher from PACCAR Australia, Adam Cain from Axlefix and John Haig from The Depot Deniliquin.
Paul Burges also represented one of the major sponsors, REPCO Commercial, and took his turn on the stage to address the crowd.
This year’s show relocated to the Deniliquin Racing Club, which everyone agreed certainly improved the overall experience of the event.
“The beautiful surroundings, perfect weather, and close to 1,500 patrons through the gates have again combined to prove this event remains a hugely popular drawcard for enthusiasts and families,” Deni Truck show president John Creenaune said as the 2023 spectacular drew to a close.
The Show and Shine event was also a huge hit, with a fleet of 75 trucks registered to compete for trophies and prizes on the day.
“We got so much positive feedback from right across our trade and catering sites, and most of those have already booked their spots for next year’s event.” Mr Creenaune added.
The weekend concluded with a memorial service at the Deniliquin and District Wall of Fame on Davidson Street, conducted by Josh Renn and followed by morning tea.
