Or are you interested in finding out more with the desire to employ somebody with a disability?
What do you need to consider, what are you not aware of, and what are some of the strategies and tools available to help you?
A Disability Employment Inclusion Morning Tea, delivered in partnership with Intereach, Personnel Group and Omnia Inclusive, is inviting employers, service providers, jobseekers, and community members to come together in support of greater workplace diversity and inclusion.
The event will be hosted by John Gibbons, CEO of Personnel Group, who will MC the program.
A key highlight will be a panel-style interview featuring an employee living with a significant hidden disability, alongside their employer.
Together, they will share an honest and uplifting conversation about the employment journey and discuss workplace adaptations, audio aides, and the practical steps taken to create a supportive, inclusive environment.
The panel will also feature other insightful speakers from the disability and employment sectors, providing strategies and tools for employers seeking to build diverse and accessible workplaces.
Organisers say the event is designed to both inform and inspire.
“This event is about encouraging businesses to employ locally and build more inclusive workforces,” said Jesmine Coromandel, Stakeholder Engagement and Projects Officer with the Local Jobs Program and event coordinator.
“By hearing directly from both an employee and employer, we hope to highlight how small changes can make a big difference, and that inclusive hiring is not only possible, but incredibly valuable.”
Attendees will enjoy a complimentary morning tea and have the chance to win a lucky door prize.
The event is free, but registration is essential. Local businesses, employment providers, jobseekers, students, and anyone passionate about inclusion are warmly encouraged to attend.
