Echuca Lions Club members John Paterson and Lal Whyte attended Rochester Community House recently to present a cheque for $10,000 on behalf of the Echuca Lions to the Community House Mental Health Support program.
The majority of the funds were raised at the Echuca Lions Club’s AFL Grand Final Dinner held at Rich River Golf Club in the week prior to the grand final.
The function was attended by approximately 100 people and was well supported by Rochester Lions Club, Byfords, RRGC, and Harvey Norman.
The Mental Health Support staff at the Rochester Community House continue to be instrumental in the recovery of the Rochester community since the devastating floods of October 2022.
At any one time they have had approximately 50 residents on their books, ranging from preschool age through to the elderly.
The Mental Health Support worker Bern, combined with support from other services, both local and external, is integral to the Rochester community’s recovery, and the Echuca Lions Club was only too happy to raise the funds to assist this valuable cause.
