In 2023, according to the Crime Statistics Agency (CSA), there were 30 aggravated burglary incidents in the town.
In Kyabram, there were only two incidents throughout the year.
These 32 burglaries were a part of the 2909 criminal incidents that were registered in Campaspe Shire last year.
The amount of aggravated burglaries increased statewide last year in Victoria by 29 per cent. It went from 4558 incidents in 2022 to 5887 incidents in 2023.
Other regional areas have been harder hit by the increase in aggravated burglaries, like Mildura, where according to CSA data, they occur on average every two days, with 126 offences recorded in 2023.
This number was closely followed by Melbourne suburbs Berwick, with 93 incidents, Glen Waverley, 89, Dandenong, 84, and Pakenham, 63. Also in the top 10 with more than 50 offences recorded were Keysborough, St Albans, Frankston, Morwell and Traralgon.
