The $5.5 million project will repair significant damage caused by severe weather and flooding since 2022.
Federation Council mayor, Cheryl Cook emphasized the importance of the works for the community.
“Our roads have been severely impacted by the ongoing and extreme weather events of the past few years, causing a great deal of concern for our residents,” Cr Cook said.
“This project represents a significant investment in local infrastructure, and we are committed to restoring our road network to a safe and reliable condition.
“I want to thank the community for their patience as we undertake this critical work.”
The restoration work involves heavy patching of bitumen-sealed pavements on both regional and local roads to improve safety, enhance driving conditions, and extend the lifespan of the local road network.
The project is funded through the Transport NSW Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) and will be carried out by contractor Szabolics Construction Pty Ltd and is expected to be completed by June 30, 2026.
Traffic management measures, including lane closures and reduced speed limits, will be in place during the works to ensure the safety of both road users and construction crews.
Council encourages all motorists to allow for extra travel time and plan their journeys accordingly.
