Last Thursday night’s good rain for Corowa and district was most welcomed by farmers.
“We had 34 millimetres and everybody around here had between 27 and 35 millimetres. It’s fantastic,” farmer Richard Sargood said.
“If we’d missed this rain, there’d have been a lot of long faces. If we can get around 20 to 30 millimetres over the coming two or three weeks it’d also be fantastic.”
The rain gives the start to some feed and crops; it has been incredibly dry of late.
“The last three or four years have been perfect rain-wise. It’s not always like this for farmers,” Mr Sargood said.
