Around 140 ladies dressed in their best to enjoy fine food and wine while watching the Oaks Day racing from Flemington on the big screen.
The Fashions on the Field was a huge success this year with prizes awarded to the women who dressed to impress, sponsored by popular Corowa ladies clothing store Shine, Flowers by Kate, Corowa Jewellers and Jo Mackenzie at Professionals Wodonga.
Judges Nancy Naughtin and Debbie Naughtin ran an exciting fashions program with ladies required to walk the catwalk and show off their outfits.
The best dressed ladies were awarded to Christine Kent (overall winner), Sandra Moloney and Mila Hynes.
A group of women, who have been attending since 2005, also returned once again collectively dressed in shades of green.
Seated on the balcony with sweeping views of the award-winning golf course, the green theme ladies all looked fabulous.
“It’s been a great day for our special group,” group member Sandra Johnstone said.
The event, now in its 17th year, the Ladies Oaks Day was deemed another great success by organiser Kerryn Alexander.
“Everything has been fantastic, particularly the Fashions on the Field,” Ms Alexander said.
“The standard of dress has really improved too. We have more ladies dressing up and adding to the prestige of the event.”
“The tradition continues for ladies in Corowa and surrounds.
“The catering by the Corowa Golf Club was fantastic and much appreciated.
“Everyone looked glamourous and had a great day.
“A special thank you to our MC Gavin King, our judges Debbie and Nancy, the organising committee and everyone who attended We look forward to doing it all again next year.”
