This event served as a follow-up to Thank a First Responder Day which recognised the invaluable work all first responders do to keep the community safe.
More than 40 children and their families gathered to meet local firefighters Desi and Dylan, who shared insights into their roles.
Learning in a fun way, an interactive demonstration for how to react in a fire emergency.
The session was fun and educational, with Desi and Dylan teaching essential fire safety lessons including the importance of calling Triple Zero, the Stop, Drop, and Roll technique, and how to crawl on the ground to escape smoke and heat.
The highlight for many was the chance to get up close with a real fire truck and even hold the hose.
The Corowa Fire Brigade also gifted special helmets and activity packs, inspiring many ‘little firefighters-in-training’ among the crowd.
Story time taken outside, the fire truck on full display.
Federation Council mayor Cheryl Cook expressed her gratitude for the event.
“It is absolutely wonderful to see our community engaging with our local heroes from the Corowa Fire Brigade,” Cr Cook said.
“These events are incredibly important, not just for building community spirit, but also for instilling crucial safety knowledge from a young age.
“We are immensely thankful to Desi and Dylan for their time and dedication.”
