From 5pm, residents and people from neighbouring towns filed through the doors of the hall, greeted by Santa and the Grinch for a festive photo.
Kids were kept busy throughout the night with face paint and a jumping castle available, fuelled by sweet treats and wood-oven pizzas provided with the price of a ticket into the party.
Farming equipment was dressed to the nines in Christmas gear, with one sneaky elf even making his way on to one of the tractors.
The event was the first of its kind in the town since COVID-19 and was organised after the committee noticed unlocked potential in the hall’s usage.
Jo Gibson, who is on the hall committee and helped organise the day, said the committee had had a few extra volunteers over the past few years who had inspired them to want to do more with the hall.
One of these events is the Festival of Small Halls, which will take place in March next year, which the committee was promoting on the night.
She said the committee was excited to hold more events like the Christmas party at the hall.
“We’ve got lots of new people that area interested in the committee … lots of people pitching in, so it’s made it a little bit easier,” she said.
“It’s hard work, but it’s always good to get fresh eyes and a bit of creativity coming into the hall.”
Journalist Jemma Jones was on the scene, capturing all the festive celebrations.
Tayo Jaimoh, 8, had his face painted.
