“It is with a great deal of sadness that I advise you of my resignation,” he formally advised outgoing club president of 12 months Chris Gillard.
“Discussions with the board will be had, and an announcement regarding my final day will be made when confirmed. It has been a tremendous journey and I thank everyone for allowing me the privilege to be part of the Corowa Golf Club.”
The General Manager said his decision has been a very hard one to make, especially given the current circumstances caused by the extended wet weather and flooding.
“Even with these toughest of circumstances, I am excited for the club’s future. I am pleased that there are strong conversations and actions at board level around strategic planning to ensure the club continues to move forward. I am also very pleased that the golf club has the support from the board of the Corowa RSL Club, its CEO Peter Norris and chief finance officer Chris Rebbechi,” Mr Peacock said.
“This support is crucial to the club’s rebound and long-term success and a great show of community spirit.”
In his lengthy resignation, the General Manager said he has met and worked with some extraordinary colleagues and volunteers and thanks everyone for their support, dedication, and loyalty to the club and trust that this will continue.
“I must thank Doug Ward and Malcolm Mclean for first giving me the opportunity to lead this magnificent club. Above and beyond there are two very special people who have been by my side my entire time. I could not have done my job and the club would be in dire straits without them. To Steve Carrick and Carly Detlefsen, I cannot thank you enough,” Mr Peacock said.
“I am pleased and proud of what has been achieved by the team during my time. We have managed to build a solid foundation for the next phase. The next phase has the potential to be a very exciting and successful period. I look forward to witnessing this and contributing wherever possible.
“The truth is, I am exhausted. I wish I had the energy for the next phase but when being completely honest it is time for new leadership, and I need to re-ignite myself…everything has an expiry date.”
