A morning coffee might have to wait this Good Friday, as Kyabram Fire Brigade’s Mick Crompton makes no apology for the early wake-up call with the sound of fire engines and rattling of donation tins.

As the CFA celebrates an extraordinary 75-year commitment to the Good Friday Appeal, the Kyabram Fire Brigade is determined to surpass last year’s fundraising total.
Members from the Kyabram Fire Brigade and Kyabram SES will be out and about appealing for donations supporting the annual Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.
It is a cause that hits close to home for many in the region, including Mr Crompton and his family, having relied on the services of the Royal Children’s Hospital since his son Kayne was three months old.
All funds raised will support research, equipment and patient-centred care for children.
The appeal kicks off on Friday, April 3, at 9am for streets north of Allan St, before crews move to streets south of Allan St starting at 1pm.
Meanwhile, members of Merrigum Fire Brigade will also be out and about covering their town.
Kyabram Fire Brigade members are encouraging residents to meet them on the street as they pass through.
“If you see us out there, throw some coin in, dig deep, (it) all goes to a good cause,” Mr Crompton said.
Renae Fleming, Renee Webb, Bill Murray, Mick Crompton, Dominic Dean and Gail Octigan look forward to raising as much as they can for the cause.

While members will pass through rattling the traditional tins, brigade and SES members will also have EFTPOS machines ready for those who wish to make cashless donations.
Community members wanting to volunteer on the day can register their interest by messaging the Kyabram Fire Brigade Facebook page.
