There’s nothing quite like witnessing the joy lighting up a child’s face when Grandma or Grandpa walk into the room.

When there’s a room full of them, it’s electric.
Corowa Library last week held its latest community focussed event with the help of the Corowa Lawn Bowls Club: Grandparent’s Day.
Children were invited to bring along their grandparents to Storytime session for a morning of fun and to recognise the important and special role that grandparents play in a child’s life.

Called ‘A Day on the Green’, the preschool-aged children were regaled with tales about grandparents before being invited to the lawn bowls green for some fun in the sun, with catering by the Corowa Lawn Bowls Club.
“Our libraries are more than just a place for books – they are a hub for the community,” Federation mayor, Cheryl Cook said.
“Programs like Storytime for children and craft groups for adults are designed to bring people together, inspire creativity and encourage community involvement.”
Last week the library also held a Propagation Boxes program, at Howlong, Corowa and Mulwala libraries, showing adults how to propagate their own indoor plants.

This week it’s Paint and Platter, a fun and social painting program.
And on November 1, Friends of the Library will host their annual book sale at Memorial Hall in Corowa to help raise funds for community focussed resources.
These programs and many more put Corowa Library at the forefront of community involvement.
Storytime is a regular part of the library program, featuring at Corowa every Friday, Howlong on the first Friday of each month, and Mulwala on the second Wednesday of each month.
Aimed at preschool aged kids, the sessions start at 10:30am, but children of all ages are welcome.
For more information on this and any of Corowa Library’s other upcoming programs and events you can enquire at the library or follow Federation Council’s Facebook page.
