Grants available for country footy and netball upgrades

The Victorian Government has opened up grants as part of its Country Football and Netball Program.

Minister for Community Sport Ros Spence said the funding was aimed at upgrading sport and recreation facilities to make it easier for everyone involved in sport to lead healthy and active lifestyles.

“Country football and netball is the lifeblood of regional communities and that’s why we’re backing more projects in towns where they’re needed most,” Ms Spence said.

The program began in 2005, and partners with Netball Victoria, the Australian Football League, and AFL Victoria to help netball and football clubs across the state to meet growing demand and welcome even more members.

More than $35 million has been delivered thus far to support more than 550 projects.

Since 2014, $1.2 billion has been invested in community sport and recreation infrastructure.

This includes another $88 million from the Victorian Budget 2022-23 to continue the Local Sports Infrastructure Fund, Female Friendly Facilities Fund and the Country Football and Netball Program.
