Improved safety and comfort are coming for the less mobile clients of Kurrajong Deniliquin, thanks to the organisers of the Rotary Club of Deniliquin Deniliquin Truck Show and Deniliquin & District Wall of Fame.

Proceeds from the annual event are distributed to the community through grants, with Kurrajong accepting a donation of just over $15,000 last week.
Kurrajong Lifestyle Choices - Deniliquin co-ordinator Matthew Johnson said it would allow the organisations to purchase and install a ceiling hoist at the Napier St Centre.
“From everyone at Kurrajong, I would like to say a massive thank you for the very generous donations from the Deni Truck Show,” Mr Johnson said.
“The ceiling hoist will have a huge impact on the people we support.
“It allows each person to be transferred to a better and more comfortable position, which is a safer process for them.
“It will also be safer for support workers during the transfers.
“Kurrajong is a not-for-profit organisation, and without such a generous donation, we would not have been able to purchase this piece of equipment.”

Truck Show committee vice president John Creenaune said the donation to Kurrajong is part of a community grants program totalling more than $23,000 this year.
“I can only imagine how much easier this equipment will make it for clients and staff, compared to the older process of moving people,” Mr Creenaune said.
“When Kurrajong approached us with information on what they were planning, we knew we wanted to help.
“It’s projects like this that inspire us to work hard to put on a great event so we can put more back into our community.
“The money we donate is proceeds from our events, with a good amount coming from the auction hosted each year at our Wall of Fame dinner.
“The grants distributed this year bring the total we’ve put back into the community since our event was established to more than $90,000.”
