Members of the Inner Wheel were treated to a hearty lunch with prizes, raffles, and even a birthday cake on offer.
President Christine Kent, in her comments during the changeover, expressed her gratitude to all the members for their unwavering dedication and hard work in making the past year a resounding success.
Under her leadership, the club achieved several milestones and organised a multitude of initiatives.
Throughout the year, the Inner Wheel of Corowa District actively engaged in various club visits and outings to foster connections with neighbouring Inner Wheel Clubs and promote friendship among members.

Notable events included a visit to District Whitten Malt house in September, a Christmas meeting at Yarra/Mulwala attended by five members, and the hosting of a District Picnic meeting in March. The club’s inaugural International Women’s Day event, which drew an impressive attendance of 97 ladies, was a significant highlight.
The organisation also held a Friendship Day with Yarra/Mulwala in January, and organised a successful movie and pizza night fundraiser in May raising $1,400.
In terms of community service, the Inner Wheel members actively contributed to the well-being of the local community. They were involved in the Corowa Intereach, where they participated in the Meals on Wheels program, and supported the Southern Cross Karinya aged care facility by producing a weekly news snippet paper sourced from local articles.
Furthermore, the club sponsored a girl through the Smith Family and contributed funds to various causes such as One Girl, Two for 10 Cord Blood, and relief efforts for the NZ Floods.
Looking forward to the upcoming year, President Christine Kent shared the club’s vision for more exciting projects and initiatives.
“We certainly had a very busy year that was challenging and wonderful,” she said.
“ We have a very exciting year ahead with lots of new projects including collecting recipes for a cookbook that should be ready to sell by Christmas
“We are hoping to make International Women’s Day an annual event as well as looking to be involved with Grow Project and many more opportunities.”
