The 25-year-old recruit is really locked in – back working locally an electrician.
After 57 senior games with Corowa from 2013, Svarc left Corowa in 2017 to play with Coburg in the VFL where he played a few games under the man popularly known as ‘Germo’.
Svarc stopped playing football in 2018 to move to Western Australia, working in the mines, as an electrician.
“James is really excited to be back, we’re all really excited he’s coming back to his old club,” senior coach Peter German told The Free Press.
“He is going to be a forward. Strong, thick legs, good power, good speed, a left-footer and knows where the goals are.”
Corowa Football Netball Club signed Svarc up last weekend. “James has some real X factor about him,” the club’s head of football department Craig Spencer said.
“He is a strongly built midfielder/half forward who loves to kick a few goals. James was coached by Peter German at Coburg and is looking forward to rekindling the relationship.”
In 2016, Svarc was one of the six-player leadership group at John Foord Oval. His leadership in the Roos’ forward line in 2021 will be welcomed.
Svarc joins an impressive list of recruits for the Roos for next year, with versatile Jason Marks returning, Wahgunyah star onballer Matt Grantham crossing the river, Williamstown dynamo onballer Charlie Nastasi and key position player Kyle Docherty, a Ballarat and Mornington Peninsula Nepean Team of the Year player, making their way to the John Foord Oval.
