Jeans were accepted as school uniform at Edward Public School on Friday, in support of Jeans for Genes day 2023.

Jeans for Genes Day is a campaign to help find treatments and cures for the 1 in 20 kids with a birth defect or genetic disease.

“No child's life should be cut short. We will do all within our power to change ‘incurable’ to ‘curable’,” the campaign says.

The Children's Medical Research Institute celebrates 65 years in 2023.

It was also a milestone for Jeans for Genes - which celebrates 30 years of helping to save children's lives.

In that time, millions of Australian's have taken part and donated a combined total of $63.5 million for medical research.

Edward Public School teachers, students and staff raised a fantastic $102 on Friday just by wearing their jeans.

It will add to the much needed tally raised this year.
