New CEO for DataGene

DataGene chair Tim Jelbart said the board was excited about the appointment.

“Emily’s technical expertise, commercial experience and deep understanding of cattle and genetics — both in Australia and internationally — make her exceptionally well suited to lead DataGene into its next phase,” Tim said.

Emily started her career as a pioneer in the commercial delivery of genomics in Australia.

With a PhD in veterinary science, she went on to lead the Animal Genetics Laboratory at the University of Queensland, providing parentage verification and other genotyping services.

“Emily has demonstrated a passion for turning science into practical tools that deliver real value on farm.

“That alignment with DataGene’s purpose was clear to the board,” Tim said.
