Anne-Marie Kelly is the newest director at REDHS, adding the role to that of her Senior Health Promotion Manager position for Loddon Mallee at the Centre for Excellence in Rural Sexual Health (CERSH).
Like REDHS chair, Chris White, who was appointed to the board leadership role in March this year, Ms Kelly has a wealth of experience in health strategy and planning and has also worked with Bendigo-based health organisations.
She also works as a Senior Advisor in Strategy, Planning and Analysis at Bendigo Community Health Services.
“I am deeply passionate about rural and regional healthcare services, as I strongly believe every individual, regardless of their geographical location deserves equal opportunities to experience positive health and wellbeing,’’ the new director said.
“I have a strong interest in strategy and planning and I am honoured to be involved in strategic planning, policy development, and decision making processes to the improvement of healthcare services for rural Victorians.
“I look forward to utilising my experience and skills to support the REDHS board,” she added.
Ms Kelly lives just outside of Bendigo and has worked across Victoria, understanding the strong sense of community and belonging that comes with rural and regional areas.
“I can often be found by the river fishing and camping with my partner or hanging out with our two dogs.
“In my new role I hope to support REDHS’ vision to care for our community while ensuring essential health service access.”
She has been appointed for a three-year term, joining fellow director Ben Devanny who has been reappointed for a further three years.
Outgoing Director, Associate Professor Carol McKinstry, concluded her nine-year term. During her tenure she acted as the Deputy Chair, Board Chair and Chair of the Clinical Governance Committee.
The REDHS board now consists of eight directors including chair Chris White, Brad Drust (deputy chair), David Rosaia, Jim Brooks, Jodie Smith and Emma Millard.
