McPherson Media Group executive chairman Ross McPherson said the expense of maintaining a bricks-and-mortar presence was no longer viable in an increasingly digital age.
“It makes more sense to invest in journalism and community and customer engagement through digital means – although our journalist and advertising team will maintain a constant presence in Cobram and the surrounding towns,” Mr McPherson said.
The Courier’s physical office may be closing, but reporter Owen Sinclair will remain in town to hear your stories.

The Courier’s reporter, Owen Sinclair, will remain on the ground in Cobram - Barooga ready to share your stories.
Courier staff will remain available via their direct phone numbers and emails. The main Courier number - (03) 5872 1144 - will remain active, and will be diverted to Shepparton administration.
The paper’s email addresses will continue to be used.
