Participants, who can come with or without a partner, will learn basic moves, footwork and handholds.
Each of the one-hour lessons costs $10, with the first one free for new attendees.
“It is not imperative that new people start on the first night — they can turn up any time over the six weeks — but from a learning perspective it’s better,” the club’s David Traeger said.
After the final lesson of the course, dancers will celebrate with a social dance to practise the skills they have learnt.
They will also be eligible for discounted tickets to the club’s social dance on March 21.
Lessons are from 7pm on Tuesdays, from February 10 to March 17, at the Kialla Hall (which is air-conditioned), 135 Central Rd, Kialla.
Learners should wear casual clothing and comfortable flat shoes, and bring a drink bottle.
