It is named in the memory of an amazing young man, Will McKern, who embodied all that this scholarship is about.
The scholarship recognises an individual who displays outstanding and inspirational qualities in both their work and personal life.
This year’s recipient is Nicholas Stubbings from Rhys Tremble Concreting & Engineering.
Nick’s one of those apprentices you’re lucky to have - always reliable, switched on, and easy to get along with.
From day one, he’s brought good humour and serious effort, never afraid to roll up his sleeves and get stuck in.
He’s reached all his learning goals and keeps building confidence with every job.
Plus, he’s just a top young bloke. He is respectful, and helps make work feel like a place people actually want to be.
And it’s not just at work. Nick’s all-in at his footy club too.
He was named Club Person of the Year at Deniliquin Rovers Football & Netball Club in 2024 for all the effort he puts in behind the scenes.
Whether it’s on the tools or out in the community, Nick always gives it his best.
• Sponsored by Fitzpatrick Fabrications, Denbrok Constructions/Hotondo Homes, Dahlsens Mitre 10 Deniliquin and the Deniliquin Business Chamber.
