The festivities commence on Friday, December 1, with the enchanting Light Up Corowa at Bangarang Park. From 5 pm, the park will transform into a magical wonderland, complete with mesmerising lighting installations in the main street, bustling markets, and delectable food stalls. Families and friends are invited to immerse themselves in the holiday spirit as the park comes alive with the sights and sounds of the season.
The highlight of the evening will be the Christmas carol concert, hosted by the charismatic MC, Steve Bowen. The concert promises to be a heart-warming experience, with performances that capture the essence of the holiday season. The market and food stalls will be open from 5 pm, and the Christmas carols concert will run from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, creating unforgettable memories for all who attend.
The excitement continues on Saturday, December 2, with Rock On The River at Rowers Park, Corowa.
From 4 pm to 8 pm, the riverside will come alive with a mix of upbeat and mellow rock music, creating a festive and fun atmosphere for all attendees.
Headlining the event is the award-winning artist Benny Walker, whose soulful tunes are sure to captivate the audience. Alongside Benny Walker, the event will feature a line-up of local music acts, adding a touch of community spirit to the evening. Food trucks will be on-site, offering a variety of culinary delights, and children’s activities will ensure that the event is enjoyable for all ages. Attendees are encouraged to bring their family and friends, along with a picnic blanket, for a night of rocking by the river.
Both events are part of the North of the Murray Event Series, a community initiative funded by the NSW State Government. Working in partnership with local community organisations, the series aims to reinvigorate local communities and businesses. The free events are designed to extend the summer festivities to residents and visitors alike, stimulating the local economy and reviving tourism in the region.
