Corowa Police would like to remind residents on both sides of the river that Coffee with a Cop is being held at Waldron’s Supa IGA by the River at 10.30am this Friday, June 27.
Police from Murray River Police District, including Corowa Sergeant Steve Marshall and Sergeant Mick Savage from Rutherglen Police are looking forward to sharing a coffee with locals and listening to your concerns.
“Sgt Savage and I have both taken ownership of our areas, which means when our community hurts, we hurt as well and we will do whatever it takes to reduce the hurt,” Sgt Marshall said.
Corowa and Mulwala Police are looking to make this more regular with plans to have a day at Howlong as well.

Alleged assault of security guard
Police were called to two separate incidents last Saturday night at Club Corowa which are likely to result in the participants receiving bans from the club.
– The first incident involved a 52-year-old intoxicated male from Rutherglen who abused staffed and then refused to leave.
– Security approached the male and requested him to leave.
– It will be alleged a security officer was assaulted.
Police removed the man from the premises. He will appear at Corowa Local Court on July 31, 2025.
About an hour and a half later police were called again for what can best be described as a ‘drunken melee’ between a 43-year-old Wahgunyah local and 40-year-old Corowa female with a 60-year-old Corowa female and a 52-year-old male.
Police are investigating how both females became entangled with one another while the males fought one another.
“We will be looking at all angles of the comprehensive CCTV … there is no excuse for that sort of behaviour,” Sgt Steve Marshall said.
Bail refused

Enquiries revealed the man was on bail and not allowed to enter Corowa. He was arrested by Corowa Police, refused bail and appeared at Albury Local Court on Monday.
