Surrounded by family and friends at the Coach House Hotel on Wednesday, she was presented the award by Member for Murray MP Helen Dalton and Edward River Council Mayor Ashley Hall.
The local award is part of the 2026 NSW Seniors Award, but Mrs McMillan was unavailable for a presentation during the official Seniors Festival in March.
Mrs McMillan was recognised for her role in helping to establish the Deniliquin branch of Sing Australia 26 years ago, and her continued involvement since.
She has also been a dedicated Uniting Church volunteer in the Wakool area for 50 years, supporting her community as both a church member and a scripture teacher.
She has also given 16 years as a session leader with Deniliquin U3A, volunteers with the South West Music Regional Conservatorium, and more than 40 years assisting at Wakool Burraboi Public School through religion, arts, and music.
Ms McMillan acknowledged all the nominees for the award and said she was “truly grateful” to receive the award.
