The annual Time of Your Life Seniors Expo provides hundreds of free and discounted programs across the state each March, and the grant program aims to maximise benefits for seniors.
Federation Council's 2024 Time of Your Life Seniors Expo in Corowa brought together more than 270 people and 30 community organisations, including vital health services, social clubs, and creative groups.
The event provided a vibrant platform for seniors to explore local programs, enjoy live demonstrations, and connect directly with services offering support and volunteering opportunities.
Federation Council mayor, Cheryl Cook, said council was incredibly proud that the Time of Your Life Seniors Expo was celebrated as a shining example of community engagement for seniors across NSW.
“This event truly embodied our commitment to ensuring our older residents remain active, informed, and connected within our Federation Council area,” Cr Cook said.
“The success of the expo was a direct result of fantastic collaboration between council and our local community groups.
“It's a testament to what we can achieve when we work together to enhance the wellbeing of our seniors.”
The expo created a significant positive impact by successfully reaching seniors from diverse backgrounds, showcasing the wealth of local services and activities available, fostering valuable partnerships between organisations, and ultimately helping older residents stay active and informed.
Federation Council general manager, Adrian Butler extended his congratulations to the council’s community development team who delivered the event.
“This recognition is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and collaborative spirit of our staff,” Mr Butler said.
“Their commitment to planning, coordinating, and delivering such an inclusive and impactful event for our seniors truly made the expo a resounding success”
The NSW Seniors Festival Grant Program 2026 is currently inviting applications from local councils and not-for-profit organisations for funding between $1,500 and $10,000 to host events that help seniors stay connected, active, and involved in community life.
