Local Commander of the NSW State Emergency Service (NSW SES) Central Murray Cluster Jodie Graham said the Deniliquin-Conargo unit received the general purpose trailer on January 29 from the NSW SES Fleet Services.
The NSW SES has delivered a significant boost to frontline capability through its Fleet Enhancement Program, with the Deniliquin-Conargo Unit receiving a brand-new Generation 2 General Purpose (Gen 2 GP) trailer.
The trailer received it’s first usage last Sunday when the Deniliquin-Conargo Unit delivered sandbags ahead of the weekend’s rainfall event.
This latest addition strengthens the unit’s operational readiness and enhances its ability to support the communities of Deniliquin, Conargo and surrounding areas during storms, floods and other emergency incidents.
The Gen 2 GP trailer has been designed with improved functionality, safety and versatility in mind.
It provides increased storage capacity and improved layout for essential equipment, allowing volunteers to deploy more efficiently and respond effectively to a wide range of incidents.
The upgraded design reflects lessons learned from previous deployments across the state, ensuring units are better equipped to meet the growing demands of emergency response.
The Fleet Enhancement Program forms part of the NSW SES’s ongoing commitment to modernising its fleet and providing volunteers with contemporary, fit-for-purpose equipment.
By investing in upgraded assets such as the Gen 2 trailer, the organisation continues to strengthen community resilience and ensure local units remain prepared for both routine operations and large-scale emergencies.
For the Deniliquin-Conargo Unit, this new trailer represents not just an equipment upgrade, but a tangible investment in volunteer capability and community safety.
