Presented annually by Seymour and District Art Society, Art Beyond the Divide has been running since 2012, providing opportunities for artists to exhibit their work, and for the community to experience regional art, for more than a decade.
With 12 categories and 14 prizes up for grabs, artists will have a chance to both connect with local audiences and compete for a share of $6350 in prize money.
New for 2026, a miniatures category has been introduced for artworks under 25cm, providing artists with a dedicated opportunity to enter smaller-scale works.
Returning categories include oil, acrylic, watercolour, pastel, mixed media, digital painting, 3D, drawing, photography, young artists – for those under 18 submitting works across any medium – and the Seymour challenge.
The Seymour challenge is a special category which invites artists to submit a work inspired by a Seymour landmark.
This year, artists are being called on to create their interpretation of Kings Park, Seymour.
Artists can interpret the park in any way they choose – drawing on its landscape, familiar features, memories, atmosphere or their own personal connection to the location.
Works must be recognisably Kings Park and source material may be requested.
Entries for Art Beyond the Divide 2026 opened on Sunday, September 27 and will close on Sunday, November 1.
