Stay inspired – park managers

“Although now is not the time to travel, stay inspired by our amazing region.” That’s the message to would-be holidaymakers from Ball Park Caravan Park Corowa Managers Sonia and Andrew Palmer.

“This has been a big focus of ours at the moment, as we continue to highlight the park

and the many opportunities for adventure in our region when the time is right,” the

Palmers told The Free Press.

“It has been so heart-warming to hear from the many who have contacted us to re-book

their stay and how much they are looking forward to coming and visiting as soon as they

can.”

The Palmers are on a two-by-two-year management contract, effective from June, with

Federation Council, having previously managed the park for 14 years.

They have introduced a number of packages, and used the time, especially now because of the coronavirus, to plan for a strong summer marketing campaign, which will be launched “when the time is right”.

“We are also using the lockdown period to perform a number of maintenance jobs to ensure the entire park is ready to welcome our many valued guests, new and former when the time is right. Managing the park during Covid times has certainly been challenging,” Sonia said.

“We were fortunate to take on the park just when people started to move around before the latest Covid restrictions. It was great to welcome those guests to our region, and welcome back some familiar faces who have been returning travellers to the park for many years.”

Sonia and Andrew are working closely with Federation Council staff to begin planning works as identified in the new Ball Park Caravan Park Masterplan. They believe the park has great potential, and look forward to seeing the masterplan actions come to fruition. Those plans include additional cabins and ensuite sites.

Nestled on the sweeping bend of Australia’s greatest river, Ball Park Caravan Park has 97 powered sites and 20 cabin sites, two amenities blocks, a camp kitchen, playground and a jumping pillow.

It offers family-friendly accommodation in one of the most picturesque locations. “We know our location really makes the park stand out and it is something that our guests say brings them back time and time again,” Sonia said.

“The park is located at the southern end of Corowa which enables easy walking access to the town. Located in the Ball Park Precinct, right next door to the new Corowa Aquatic Centre and Bangerang Park, there really is something to do for everyone. We know the new installation of these amazing assets will be drawcards, especially during the warmer months.

“Andrew and I are very passionate about the park and Corowa, and look forward to working with council to activate the park and its offerings even further.”
