Presbyterian Church minister, Reverend Richard Keith said the movie was a wonderful family film filled with courage, sacrifice and hope.
“Stories have the power to capture our imagination and remind us of deeper truths,” Rev Keith said.
“At its heart, this film shows that good is stronger than evil, love is stronger than hate, and that light will always triumph over darkness.
“These are messages our community still needs to hear.”
Based on the classic novel by C.S. Lewis, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe tells the story of four children who step through a wardrobe into the magical world of Narnia.
There they meet talking animals, discover an evil White Witch who has trapped the land in “always winter, but never Christmas,” and find a true king in the great lion Aslan.
Released in 2005, the film was a critical and box office success, winning an Academy Award for Best Makeup. It is rated PG and runs for 143 minutes.
“C.S. Lewis wrote stories that stir both the imagination and the soul,” Rev Keith said.
“This film captures his vision in a way that both children and adults can enjoy.
“It’s not just an adventure, it’s an invitation to see our own world with fresh eyes; that goodness, sacrifice and faith really do matter.”
