Inside, artist and poet Sheri Loulou invites visitors into her Dreamcore realm, a place where poetry meets photography and reality blurs at the edges.
Sheri’s work is a study in contrast. Her art glows with elated joy and shimmering nostalgia, yet lingers on loss, tragedy, and the occasional sinister twist.
“I enjoy writing about the surreal and dark sides as it allows me to be creative and have fun in imaginative ways,” she said.
Her bright smile is proof that light and shadow can beautifully coexist in the same person.
Sheri’s creative journey has caught the attention of some impressive names.
Grammy-winning songwriter DJ White Shadow, known for his work on A Star Is Born, once encouraged her with a simple but powerful note: “Keep up the awesome work!”
Logie-winning executive producer Ian Pringle praised her strong storytelling, while Comic Con Marvel and Disney artist JP Perez called her visual art “definitely on point.”
Sheri’s artistic reach spans across mediums.
She completed her Diploma in Digital Media and was nominated by the university’s Dean to deliver the student speech at her graduation, a moment she describes as one of those unexpected joys, that reminds you you’re on the right path.
In her visual work, Sheri explores liminal space, nostalgia dreamcore, and surrealism, translating feelings of escapism into colour, texture, and verse.
The result is both disarming and delicate, like catching the last glimmer of a dream before waking.
You can experience Sheri’s evolving collection at Lilliputland Gallery, open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 187 Sanger Street, Corowa.
Entry is free, and her work changes throughout the season.
