Public toilets, shade and seating are on the priority list for Kyabram residents, after an online survey revealed what community members want to see at the Jaycee play space.
The public consultation process followed the March Campaspe Shire Council meeting, after council voted to place the Jaycee Park draft masterplan on public exhibition and undertake public consultation.
While community members were able to view the draft masterplan, Campaspe Shire Council called for feedback on the proposed play space concept design to help council refine and ensure the proposed space reflects local needs.
Through the online survey, council looked to understand which features of the draft play space are most important to residents and what could be changed or improved to help inform the next stage in the design process.
“The online survey received 116 responses with feedback highlighting a desire for improved amenities, accessibility and usability of the space,” Campaspe Shire Council director communities Jo Bradshaw said.
“Respondents identified the absence of supporting infrastructure such as public toilets, shade, seating, barbecues and drinking fountains from the concept design.
“These elements would be considered through a detail design process.
“A report outlining the community feedback and recommended next steps will be presented to council.”
